We wish our retirees well as they embark on a new journey! They have made their mark, for years to come, inspiring and educating our youngest students. Thank you, from your Kelly Lane Family, Mrs. Betsy Wilken (Kindergarten) and Mrs. Cathryn Kibby (2nd Grade) for your years of dedication, support and laughs. You will be missed!

It was a very exciting day at Kelly Lane Primary School as we had our very first ribbon cutting ceremony, presenting our "Little Free Library". We were fortunate enough to have one of our very talented parents, Mr. Mullen, volunteer to decorate our "Little Free Library" with characters from some of our favorite books. We can not thank him enough for his time and were awed by our beautiful "Little Free Library". We would also like to thank Mrs. Cloukey for applying to the CT Education Foundation for this wonderful resource for our community! Stop by Kelly Lane this summer and take a book or share a book. You do not need to share a book in order to take one. If you take a book or two from a little library, feel free to bring some to share to that same library, or another in your area, when you can. We hope you enjoy our Kelly Lane "Little Free Library" as much as we do! Here's to a great summer Kelly Lane and let's read a lot of books!!

Morning Meeting Activity in Mrs. Spellman-Cloutier's kindergarten class: Laughing Scarf, Toss one then two in the air....laugh out loud as they float down until they hit the ground... SILENCE!! You could hear a pin drop! Great for practicing following directions. It also gave us the opportunity to discuss which scarf would hit the floor first...the bigger one or the smaller one?? FUN!!

Congrats to Ms. C and Ms. Ferreri
Miss Ferreri's kindergarten class has been busy soaking up the spring weather! This morning we took advantage of the beautiful day and brought our book boxes outside for some outdoor reading time. We even discovered two tiny robin egg shells outside under the trees!

Mrs. Lo Presti‘s first graders are learning about how animals can protect themselves using camouflage. They found moths that were camouflaged on trees and then made their own moths and hid them around the classroom.

In Mrs. Hagstrom's first grade class students have been learning about comparing the length of two objects by comparing each with the length of a third object. Our challenge was to figure out which classroom objects could fit through the classroom door without moving the objects!
