Kelly Lane second grade students practiced for their much anticipated musical performances this week by performing for their first grade audience. They did a great job - both the performers and the audience! We are all looking forward to welcoming our second grade families on Thursday and Friday for the performances.

As Board of Education Appreciation Month comes to a close, we would like to extend a special thank you to Ms. Monica Logan, Chair of the Granby Board of Education.
Thank you, Ms. Logan, for guiding us through thoughtful and meaningful discussions and for consistently advocating for the best interests of Granby’s staff, students and community.

The First Grade STEAM club had fun learning about how rainbows are made. The students used prisms to make rainbows and then had to hit the clover target with their rainbow to earn their team some points. Then, they worked collaboratively to build a rainbow that would stand on its own. Tons of fun!

Paper and pencil aren't the only tools that we use during the school day. Fidgets and other materials play a big part of emotional regulation for our students. Fidgets can help a student stay focused or help them to regulate their emotions. Other materials such as our emotion stuffies can help students to express how they are feeling if they don't want to talk about it in the moment.

Mrs. Pelletier's first grade class celebrated World Read Aloud Day 2025 with a live author meetup and read aloud. We met author David Shannon, who read us his book, No, David! Then, we learned how to draw David with his “naughty eyebrow” and ear with no holes (he doesn’t listen well). It was fun to connect with 50,000 other classes from across the world!
