Autism Awareness and Acceptance
Fourth grade has been busy learning to multiply and divide big numbers. We start with visual models, and work our way up to a couple different algorithms. This enables students to have a better sense of WHY they're doing what they're doing in the computation that they perform. These students love the Area Model method, and were super proud of their work. So proud, in fact, they asked me to take pictures. Gotta love it! - Megan Proto, 4th Grade Teacher

In PE, students have been participating in our annual basketball unit. Students have spent time working on dribbling skills, lay-up form and played some fun games such as dribble tag, chicken dribble, hot shot and knock-out. Students in 5th grade have been taking a basketball quiz also, (to help them get prepared for quizzes in PE at the Middle School). Now it's on to Floor Hockey! - Steve Migneault, PE Teacher

Ms. Lozada's group is concentrating on recording key details to enhance comprehension. They utilize color coding to align their answers with specific questions. To refine this approach, Ms. Lozada could designate distinct colors for each type of response. She could also demonstrate the process through think-aloud and offer graphic organizers to provide structure. Facilitating collaborative discussions would deepen their understanding and foster critical thinking. - Kianna Lozada Pagan, Resource Teacher
